Master Thesis Aspects of Implementation of “Green Construction” in the Public Building
Sector in India. The aim of this master’s thesis is to develop a model for implementing green
practices in the public sector constructions of India, therefore eliminating negative
environmental consequences by using less water, energy, and natural resources. A lack of
technical expertise and financial resources has stymied the development of India's green
construction sector. If really sustainable building is to take off, these obstacles must be addressed
at the entrepreneurial-regulatory level. As a result, this master's thesis is timely since it seeks to
provide a model for the effective use of green construction principles in India's public building
sector.
The Research Questions are as follows: RQ 1- What are the currently used green
practices in public building sector? RQ 2- What are the factors that affect the implementation
of green building concept in public sector constructions? RQ 3- How the factors affecting green
building practices in the public sector constructions can be tackled for promoting an ecofriendly construction? The thesis uses the following methodologies. This study's data came
from internet surveys and social media. The survey consisted of 19 self-structured questions in
several sub-categories. The study's authors expect their results would help apply "Green
practises" in India's public construction projects. First, a descriptive statistic was created using
the survey's results. Statistical methods have been used to study the survey responses
The thesis consists of an introduction, an Analytical Part (Chapter 1), a Theoretical part
(Chapter 2), Practical Part (Chapter 3) utilising Factor analysis, and a conclusion of the results
and recommendations. The significance, purpose, objectives, research question, limitations, and
summary of the thesis are all discussed in depth in the introduction. The first section of this
study is split into an analytical part that examines the Indian construction industry's market and
a theoretical part that examines green building practises and the factors that influence them.
Finally, the author analysed the survey responses by using statistical methods such as
descriptive as well as factor analysis in the Practical Part. The components gathered from the
factor analysis acts as a foundation for proposing a model for effective implementation of green
building approaches in the public sector constructions of India.
Work consists of 86 pages with 28 images, 8 tables, and 1 formula. The bibliography
and list of sources comprises 88 English-language sources. There are seven pages of annexes.
