Our research examines the literature published in important publications on external risk disruptions in the supply chain (SC), which has grown over a number of decades with particular focus on recent innovations. This significant study has been identified and reviewed using a variety of methodologies. The research content analysis synthesizes existing knowledge about the types of external disturbances, their effect on supply chains, supply chain resilience approaches, and recovery strategies suggested by the studies, all of which were backed by cost–benefit analysis. Our analysis also looks at the most common modelling frameworks on the subject, as well as relevant examples, incidents, and tools for improving resilience and lowering disruption risks. Finally, a comprehensive potential research plan on SC disturbances is created, which addresses the existing gaps that need to be addressed. The aim of this research is to bring together information on supply chain external hazard disruptions, which is becoming increasingly relevant as the scale and effect of disruptions grows. The thesis incorporates and focuses on the findings of other well-cited analyses and research in this field. |
