Abstract In recent years, the telecom sector has shown remarkable growth. As a result, the industry is confronted with new difficulties in keeping track of different generations of mobile network technology, such as 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS), and 4G (LTE/WiMax), as well as the widespread adoption of internet protocol (IP) technologies and the exponential increase in wireless capabilities, all of which threaten to slow down the development of AII-IP based Next Generation Networks (NGN). In 3GPP Release 5, an IP multimedia Subsystem (IMS) was defined to transport integrated multimedia applications between wireless and wire line devices. IMS uses session initiation protocol (SIP) for complete packet management of incoming and outgoing calls. 3GPP has chosen SIP as the protocol to manage user registrations and multimedia sessions in the IMS. Using Internet Protocol (IP) standards as defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), IMS will bring together cellular networks and the virtual world, providing early support for accommodating the rapid development and rollout of integrated IP multimedia applications. The research connects the dots between SER's foundational module and its subsequent role, which must be identical to the extended SIP version and serve as a CSCF for IMS.
