Abstract Investigation of the electrical potential on the bovine bone surface irradiated with Er:YAG laser was considered in the present bachelor thesis. The strategy is to prepare the bone samples, irradiate them with a laser doted beam to induce an electrical potential, and analyze the surface by different methods. Among the methods used, there are preliminary graphite testing, Fourie-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM), and photoelectron (PE) emission spectroscopy. During the research, the specific checked structure with ablation and nonablation areas, the difference in the chemical composition, and new local states in the forbidden gap were found in the irradiated area by mentioned methods. In both testing samples, PE emission spectroscopy shows, that the new local states correspond to the same values and the difference between them are approximately the same.
