Literatūras apskatā apkopota informācija par laika periodu no 1898. līdz 2011. gadam, izmantojot referatīvos žurnālus, datu bāzes SpringerLink, ScienceDirect un Ebscohost un interneta patentu datubāzes Free Patents Online un PatentScope u.c. avotus.
