Abstract Simulation of an ultrawide band TR-PPM communication system model is first carried out using MATLAB Simulink. The subsystems that are simulated as part of this model include Gaussian pulse generator, square wave and Bernoulli data blocks, Transmitter and the Receiver systems. Each subsystem is tested and integrated to form the transceiver system. The transceiver system is further tested for successful transmission and recovery of binary data. The simulation is further extended to incorporate the chaotic sequence spreading and despreading system models and minor change to the transmitter to develop a full-pledged chaotic transceiver system. This system is finally tested with binary data signal and the performance is found be to satisfactory as there is almost one to one matching of transmitted and recovered data.
