Abstract The Bachelor Paper titled Machine Translation: Advantages and Disadvantages is written by the 4th year student of Riga Technical University Technical translation study programme Karina Kombajeva. The Paper consists of two main parts: Theoretical Part and Practical Part, as well as introduction, Conclusion, Glossary, Bibliography. The Practical Part represents translation of the book in the field of telecommunications IP for 4G, and the author of the source text is Dave Wisely. The Theoretical Part provides description of machine translation software and its comparison with human translation, as well as its advantages and disadvantages. The Bachelor Paper investigates advantages and disadvantages of free machine translation software and translation memories. The Bachelor Paper comprises a total of 155 pages. The Theoretical Part comprises 30 pages. The Practical Part comprises 60 pages. The paper includes 6 pages of Appendixes. Bibliography consists of four parts: the title of the source book, theoretical sources, dictionaries and Internet sources. Bibliography list includes 44 sources. Glossary includes 100 terms.
