Abstract Coming from a country which is densely populated and has a tropical weather and a professional from an air-conditioning background, human comfort has been a topic of prime importance for the author. It also becomes equally important that the industrial products which provide air-conditioning comfort are well maintained. The author has tried to explore the link between pre and post sales of these industrial products by making the supply chain of spare parts that are essential to maintain air-conditioning equipment’s more efficient. The topic becomes important as it is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain businesses not just against fierce competition but also due to new challenges like global pandemics that can disrupt the supply chain. The subject of this thesis is one of the largest air-conditioner manufacturing company across the world and the main purpose of the study was to evaluate the existing inventory management practices, procurement and distribution strategies and provide the company with the observations and recommendations to further develop a resilient supply chain focusing on a specific region. The research was carried out by completing a qualitative analysis which included interviews with key personnel’s, detailed brainstorming sessions with the senior management and quantitative data analysis of the inventory management processes. The results of the research revealed how the overall delivery lead times can be shortened for the company in a phased manner by adapting to the proposed procurement strategies there by reducing the safety stocks and average inventories. The author hopes that the thesis comprising of 92 pages, 13 figures, 10 tables, 39 references and 4 appendixes will serve the purpose and the results will be of some practical use to the case company and other companies in general.
