Abstract In the implementation of the smart warehouse system, the concept of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) is a critically important component which is also expensive to set up. Automated guided vehicles play a vital role in the smart warehouse system as it influences factors such as efficiency, lead time, reliability, cost effectiveness, etc. For a better return on investment (ROI), proper utilization of AGVs is required. The efficiency of the automated guided vehicles is directly proportional to task assignment, path planning, scheduling, and optimization of movements. So, in this thesis, we will discuss the ways to optimize the path search using an appropriate algorithm. The results of the simulation experiments will support the analysis where different algorithms are implemented to find the path from the starting node to the goal node in the warehouse environment. The master thesis contains a total of 71 pages, 40 images, three tables, and 67 reference sources.
