Abstract SUPPRESSION OF CONDUCTED EMI IN CRITICAL CONDUCTION MODE PFC CONVERTERS USING SPREAD SPECTRUM TECHNIQUE This thesis deals with the use of spread spectrum technique in critical conduction mode (CrCM) power factor correction (PFC) converters to reduce conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI). The effect of switching frequency modulation (SFM) (as one of the possible spread spectrum techniques) on the total harmonic distortion (THD), power factor and EMI attenuation is studied in details in the thesis. The CrCM PFC converter is studied using computer simulation as well as analytically. Some advices for more effective use of the SFM in CrCM PFC are proposed. The thesis is written in English and consists of 59 pages, 30 figures, 4 tables, 1 annex, 28 references.
