DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATON TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION FOR DAIRY SUPPLY CHAIN
Dairy farming is one of the most delicate farming industries in the world. There is always great demand for dairy and dairy products due to which the gap between the producer and the consumer is present always. This study examines some of the key areas where the dairy industry can concentrate to evolve a better yield and eliminate the gap between producer and consumer. Dairy supply chain is one of the key areas that will be thoroughly discussed in this paper. Dairy market is extremely volatile and reducing time of production and increasing profit are kept as major goal throughout this project. Establishing an efficient inventory controlling system for these short-shelf life products is a challenge to be attended. This study focuses and proposes planning and controlling of dairy inventory through new technologies and software that can be applied in necessary areas of chain. The proposed plan aims to produce better yield along with reduced time and cost in the supply chain cycle. Various supply chain management problems in dairy farming is discussed in this paper and the countermeasures are also being discussed to achieve dairy supply chain management control. The specific objective is to present the importance of dairy supply chain management and the application of current technologies that can be applied.
