Abstract |
The objective of this thesis project is to determine the radio coverage of GSM base station and to propose a simple, accurate and efficient method for the evaluation. Investigation on mobile network (GSM) base station coverage and planning the main principles has been studied and experimental network of GSM base stations has been developed using the "ICS Telecom” simulation software. Regulation of GSM frequencies were compared both in Europe and Nigeria. Changing base stations main technical and radio parameters, radio wave propagation models, to observe how these made changes affect theoretical mobile radio coverage of GSM base stations and then draw conclusions on acquired results and provide proposals for selection of characteristics to enhance mobile radio coverage of GSM base stations. This bachelor thesis consist of 76 pages, 79 figures, 4 tables, and 20 literature sources. |
