| Abstract |
The author of the Bachelor Paper is Anete Skrastiņa, and the title of the Bachelor Paper is Synonyms in Technical Translation. The Bachelor Paper consists of two parts: The Theoretical Part and Practical Part.
The Theoretical Part consists of four chapters. The first chapter introduces various synonym classifications made by different linguists and compare the differences of each classification. The second chapter is based on the theories and examples that are against the usage of synonyms. The third chapter provides the analyses of the source text. The fourth chapter includes detailed analyses of the translation techniques used in the process of translation. Through all chapters examples of source text have been discussed.
The Practical Part includes the Latvian translation of chapters 1 and 2 of the book The Global New Deal: Economic and Social Human Rights in World Politics written by William F. Felice, published by Rowman &Littlefield Publishers, 2010.
The Bachelor Paper consists of 101 pages, including 60 pages of translation into Latvian. There are 20 examples in the Theoretical Part. The reference involves 12 books, 11 articles in a collection of research papers, 8 printed dictionaries, and 4 online dictionaries. There are 2 Appendixes in the Bachelor Paper: Appendix I is glossary, which consists of glossary of general language words and glossary of abbreviations. Appendix II is the source text of the translation of the: Chapter 1, Chapter 2. |
