| Abstract |
The present Master Paper Interpretation of Different Levels of Grammatical and Lexical Equivalence in the Translation of Technical Texts has been developed by Furkat Sharipov the second-year student of the Technical Translation Professional Masters Study Programme. The aim of the present paper is to provide a critical evaluation of the most influential equivalence theories and focuses on explaining the concept of equivalence which hold a central position in translation studies. The Paper deals with the problem of equivalence as one of the most topical issues in translation theory and practice. The theoretical part of the Master Paper comprises two main parts; the first one discusses the theoretical approach to the issue of equivalence, levels of grammatical and lexical equivalence, while the second one demonstrates the practical application by discussing and illustrating several translation methods used in producing the particular translation.
The Master Paper consists of the introduction, theoretical part, practical part the translation of the source text into Russian; conclusions, bibliography and appendices comprising a glossary of terms and chapters from the source text used for translation, (in total 113 pages excluding the appendices). The source text is The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid by C. K. Prahalad (2005).
The bibliography consists of 21 books and articles, as well as 4 printed dictionaries and 8 online dictionaries and resources. |
