Darbā tiek aprakstīti dažāda tipa atjaunojāmie enerģijas avoti, to izmantošanas perspektīvas Latvijā un pasaulē. Tiek aplūkota bioenerģija, vēja enerģija, saules enerģija, ģeotermāla un hidroenerģija. Tiek aprakstīti atjaunojāmo enerģijas avotu priekšrocības un trūkumi, kā arī iespējāma to izmantošāna un attistības perspektīvas.
